Glen jaquay is by far the rudest, narrow minded, self centered ass hole i have ever met and by far the worst person to represent the dish company it has taken me 2 weeks to get his name and i just thought it might be nice for everybody else to know that this man talks down to you and treats you as if you are a peasent and that is why i will never do business with dish

I have been a dish network for five years. I recently was roped into a new contract under the guise that I would receive an offer comparable to what is offered to first time customers after I had decided to switch to Direct TV. My bill was supposed to be 54.99 with auto pay. I received my first full bill and it was 80 dollars for the lowest package for two TVs. I just spend an hour and a half talking to three different people with accents I could barely understand. The issue is unresolved. They were completely rude and do not care about existing customers at all. Do not get lured in by what they tell you as a first time customer. They will treat you like crap afterwards.

Worst customer service ever! Our cable box made a very loud pop and sizzle noise. I ran into the family room and the box was smoking like mad. Fire alarms going off. My husband heard me yell and came running into the room – he tried to unplug the box but the cables were too hot. Finally got the cables unplugged and carried cable box outside. I called DISH to report the incident. I also explained that I wanted to cancel my contract because I didn t feel safe knowing a cable box could do that. I was pretty shaken up. What if we werent home and the box caught on fire? Long story short, we are having to pay a buy out fee to cancel our contract. We had 6 months left on a 2 year contract and NO ONE will help us. I went right up the line to the office of the president and they said they have to stick to the contract. Horrible customer service. Horrible company. I would highly discourage using the company. They are definitely not customer friendly and they are unwilling to resolve the issue. Who treats their customers like that. I would give this zero stars but I had to chose 1 star.

My tv service is out as much as it works! Boxes fail every time it rains. Been putting up with it for 15 years and now it s time to change, but cannot find a good review for any provider.

Dish Network does not fulfill the service we signed up to receive. Due to a firmware update of the Dish equipment, it was no longer compatible with our projector. Dish would not release us from our contract despite their failure to provide service.

From the business

Specialties

Widely considered the industry leader in technology, DISH s award-winning innovations include: Hopper with Sling Whole-Home HD DVR that gives customers the ability to watch live and recorded TV programming from smartphones, tablets and computers; and the Tailgater, a lightweight, portable satellite dish ideal for watching TV while tailgating, camping, in the RV or at outdoor activities.

Even as DISH consistently introduces products of increasing sophistication, it also leads the industry by offering the best value – the same channels at a better price.

Challenging the economics of pay-TV, Ergen has charged competitors with passing the burden of wasteful spending to subscribers, and he maintains the mantra that DISH will always offer customers the lowest everyday pricing nationwide.

History

Established in 1980.

Three people -Charlie Ergen, Candy Ergen and Jim DeFranco- were hauling an enormous C-band TV dish via pickup truck to a customer in remote Colorado. In the early 1980s this was one of only two dishes owned by the business. A powerful gust of wind whipped up, blowing the antenna off its trailer into a ditch. There goes half the company.

Summed up as a bad day in the infancy of DISH Network, the founders overcame this setback to build what is now a Fortune 250 company that employs thousands and serves millions throughout the nation – a seemingly unlikely future on that blustery day.

Fast forward to 1995, when DISH launched its first satellite into orbit. Several months later, DISH made its first broadcast to customers, using small dish antennas and state-of-the-art technology designed and built in-house.

Since then, DISH has consistently introduced increasingly sophisticated products, such as the Award-Winning Hopper DVR, while offering the best value in the satellite tv industry.
