Holidays in Porth offer getaways in a safe, family bay, located between the extreme sports hotspot of Watergate Bay (Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Restaurant) and famous bustling surf town Newquay (home of International surf competitions).
The stuning little cove at Porth has a large beachside pub, tearooms, a cafe and a bistro a short walk across the beach. There is also a pub & bowling alley less than five minutes walk away. Whatever the time of year, Pennti-Treth and Trenpeskador offer a fantastic base to enjoy the wonderful Cornish coast and all of the Duchy’s best eateries and attractions. Jamie Oliver’s ‘Fifteen’ Restaurant is 2 miles away, Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant & the famous fishing village of Padstow is 11 miles.
The Pickwick Inn, St Issey, the award-winning freehouse is also 11 miles away – offering 10% discount on food and drink & free tennis (booking essential). The world famous Eden Project is only 15 miles away.
In the dramatic winter months you may well have Porth beach to yourselves as you watch the rollers crashing in.
In the summer you will be the envy of other beach-goers – (no parking problems or cost) – you literally come out of the front door and onto the golden sand.
Newquay offers a host of activities including world famous beaches, various theme parks, surfing schools, discos, bars, restaurants, a zoo & waterpark, shops and much, much more.
The magnificent cliff walks on either side of Porth are ideal for blowing away the cobwebs and relieving the stresses of city life. On one headland is the site of an Iron Age settlement which is easily accessible via a footbridge linking the mainland.
Porth is arguably the safest bathing beach in the whole of North Cornwall. It has an RNLI lifeguard during peak season. The bay is also surrounded by spectacular coastal paths (great for those who prefer a stroll to lapping up the rays).
For the surfers there are bays on either side which are ideal for wave-riding as well as the world-renowned surfing beaches of Newquay being on your doorstep.
The airport is 10 minutes drive away. We are ten minutes off the A30.
